Exchange moderated groups

Moderate distribution groups

Distribution groups in Exchange can do more than just distribute email to recipients. Options like news moderation make the otherwise boring distribution groups appear a little more lively.

A moderated distribution group works as follows.

The group contains recipients, and there is a moderator who checks the message in advance and decides whether it should be delivered to the recipient or not.

The whole thing can be set up as follows. In this document, I show the setup and a few examples of the process.
